Seven Days of Silence The Watcher of Crystal Falls Series by Morrigan King is a beautifully written, eerie tale that pulls you in with its chilling and subtle suspense. This hauntingly immersive short story keeps you intrigued from start to finish and will leave you anxiously awaiting the next story in this series.
Living in the small town of Crystal Falls, Ivy is being threatened by a countdown promising an unknown horror to befall her in seven days. Ivy can not escape the feeling of being watched by someone lurking in the shadows and terrorizing her with phone calls and whispers leaving her on edge as her final hour approaches all too quickly.
What stands out most is the mood—dark, dreamy, and unsettling in the best way. The "Watcher" is a chilling presence, and the blend of folklore and psychological unease adds depth to the narrative. While the pacing in the middle drags slightly and a few plot threads could have been more fully explored, the payoff is satisfying, and the emotional undercurrents hit hard.
This short story is perfect for fans of quiet horror and gothic mystery. Morrigan King has a strong voice, and I’ll definitely be looking out for more of her work as she continues to release the remainder of the series.
